Yes, 3 weeks to go. And I conquered somethings on that list of mine.
1. USHER OMG Tour Concert with Trey Songz
So the concert was Great! It was at the New Jersey Prudential Center. We had good seats. Both Usher and Trey Songs was great and Sexy. What topped off the concert was that my friends were crazy FANATICS they were screaming the whole concert. I thought it was hilarious. They thought that Usher and Trey Songz was singing to them. That made it even more interesting. Anywho, back to the men. So Trey Songz was a good connecting performance so I understand why my friends thought that they were the only ones in the audience. He did the ole pull my shirt off and make the crowd of women go crazy move. He did sing most of his more recent hits on his latest album "Passion, Pain, Pleasure". Usher was Usher dancing all over the place. He even had a moment where he performed elevated over the crowd. He sang a lot of his old school hits. You everyone went crazy we sang "Yeah, Yeah" with Lil John. (no lil john was not there). Everything was great!
2. Alvin Ailey Dance Company Show on Broadway - http://www.alvinailey.org/
In case you don't know who or the history of the importance of Alvin Ailey to the black community I posted the website. It was modern dance. Very strong and powerful movements. Each dance seemed based of an important part of the black community. The more notable performance is "Revelations" named after the Bible chapter. Its a 3 part dance based on baptism, women having the "holy ghost" and dancing with the spirit, and its very hopefully about the black community and their connection to the church. I attended the performance with sorority sisters of mine. It was good to reconnect with them.
3. My "You know you will miss me" Dinner
I put together a dinner at a Thai Restaurant called Room Service in Manhattan. The food was great. And not really expensive. The group of women I met with were all close to me in there own special way. Love them all and was happy to see them all together before I leave for my big trip.
4. Wedding
My coworker got married to her college sweetheart on Sunday. The wedding was MAGICAL in every way. She had 2 gowns. Her hair and makeup flawless. And I was happy to witness this Black Love. Its hard unfortunately to see couples stay together in the inner city. There is a mixture of many reasons for that, but the lack of men willing to come and be fathers to there sons to show them how to take a women is part of it. I felt overwhelm with the joy in the atmosphere and it was great (and so was the food).
5. Pamper Ex Boyfriend (wait that wasn't on the list lol it happened anyway) - Yes so it was my Ex's birthday. I did take him and tried to make him feel special. Sometimes we have a hard time communicating, so I tried to be more attentive to that so we can have a good evening. But we went to eat at this place called EATLY. Its suppose to be the closest thing to Italy in New York. Though I have not been to Italy yet you can see how largely influenced Italy is there. Its not just a restaurant, its 3 restaurants. There is a market that sells traditional brands from of food from Italy as well as a gelato area, a cafe, a fresh pasta market, a wine store. And they have Italian cooking classes. This place was great. Look it up if you are ever in New York. They have other locations other places as well.
I will keep adding and trying to ex things of my list. Can't wait to finish it off. I am now helping one of friends get ready for Chimney, France. She is study abroad for the winter break, she is in law school. Hopefully I will be able to post things from her trip.
Until Next Time,

The Amazing Race! My New Favorite Show
Finals are over catching up on a little TV time. So I just completed watching the whole season for the Amazon Race. It makes me hungry to travel now while in Rome. Like Rome is not enough after watching that show. I just got my official visa this week so I am ready!!!!! I think ? still have my 10 things to do and I have not packed.
Ok well if you get the time to check this past season of Amazing Race online do so. The places they visit are great and are have extremely historical meanings to the country they are visiting. I like the fact the show actually makes them do things that are local to the men/women labor or activities for the region so they can experience things like karaoke in China or remodeling an elementary school in Ghana. Can't wait to next season!

Pre Trip Diary 12-4-10
Greetings World,
First Post and I decided to keep it simple. (For Now) I am still in Harlem, started my counted to Rome. Every time someone piss me off at work or home all I say in my head is "Rome Hurry Up !" And yes I created this blog early enough to document some these frustrating moments. I am a MBA student (yay me, its tough) and as I study the last couple of weeks while I am here for my finals I do realize how much I miss people, and I have not even left yet. I can't be as active and eventful when I am working full time and as part time MBA student so all I see is my immediate family (if they are up when I get in) and my lovely dog. I feel like this is a taste of what it will be like when I am away from my family and friends, everyone a different time zone and alone. I know I have to find a hobby in Rome. Look forward to renting, Eat, Pray, Love now that its on DVD maybe I will pick up some ideas from Ms. Gilbert (Julia Roberts Character). For now back to the books and mentally counting down the days to leave in my head before I lash out on someone.
Until next time
